For monitoring a normal pregnancy, you can contact a midwife. The midwife will provide you with medical-technical examinations, psycho-emotional support and help out with minor complaints that can sometimes occur during pregnancy. You can choose to have your pregnancy monitored by our midwifes or you alternately visit the
midwifes and your gynaecologist/family doctor. If you choose to have a delivery with our midwifes, you will naturally come to our consultations. The development of your pregnancy is very important to us, as well as how you and the baby are doing before giving birth. But even if you choose to give birth in hospital with a gynaecologist, you can still see us for regular check-ups. The midwife and gynaecologist work complementary, this way you will receive the best care possible.
For ultrasounds we refer you to the gynaecologist.
During the consultation we are on your side, with passion for our profession. As a midwife we are medically trained to monitor a normal, so called ‘low risk’, pregnancy.
  •  we track the changes in your body
  • we assess the growth and well-being of your baby
  •  we can detect any abnormalities or complications early on and will then refer you to a gynaecologist if needed
  • we support you through the emotional changes you will experience and prepare you for giving birth and for parenthood
  • you will have all the time you need to ask any questions you may have

At the first consultation we prepare a pregnancy file. A special booklet, “moederboekje”, will be filled out and you need to bring this at every appointment.  This way all health care workers will be informed about the evolution of you and your baby.

Please be on time for the consultation. This way you make sure that others do not have to wait unnecessarily. If you are unable to attend, please contact us as soon as possible. You can cancel an appointment by telephone up to 24 hours in advance. In case of late cancellation and in the absence of the client, the consultation will be charged.

What a weird start of 2020. Nobody could have predicted that we would end up here. Nature forces us to stand still and the earth gets a breather. The other side of this story is, of course, that pregnant women are worried and that maternity visits are no longer allowed. But don’t worry, the midwives of Bolle Buik are there for you. We abandon nobody. To create clarity, we have made a list of our corona rules.

1. The consultations and home visits continue as planned. The midwife will contact you when a physical appointment is not necessary, for example via phone or skype. Please bring two towels (a small one and a bigger one) to the consultation!
2. You can bring your partner to the pregnancy checkup or consultation but you both have to wear a face mask
3. The moment you arrive for the consultation we ask to wait in the car or outside until the midwife comes to find you, calls you or texts you to come inside.
4. We will wear masks. This is for your and our own protection. Do not be frightened, our midwives are not sick. The moment they get ill, they will stay at home and you will be appointed another midwife that will follow you up.
5. Please give us a call before the consultation (if possible the day before the consultation) if you or other family members show symptoms of corona-virus. Often the consultation can still take place but with extra precautions. Symptoms are: fever, headache, muscle ache, cough, ...

We advise against non-medical maternity visits. To protect yourself but also to protect our midwives and their families. Let’s take care of each other.
