Pregnancy

Pregnancy-
consultation
For monitoring a normal pregnancy, you can contact a midwife. The midwife will provide you with medical-technical examinations, psycho-emotional support and help out with minor complaints that can sometimes occur during pregnancy. You can choose to have your pregnancy monitored by our midwifes or you alternately visit the
midwifes and your gynaecologist/family doctor. If you choose to have a delivery with our midwifes, you will naturally come to our consultations. The development of your pregnancy is very important to us, as well as how you and the baby are doing before giving birth. But even if you choose to give birth in hospital with a gynaecologist, you can still see us for regular check-ups. The midwife and gynaecologist work complementary, this way you will receive the best care possible.
For ultrasounds we refer you to the gynaecologist.
During the consultation we are on your side, with passion for our profession. As a midwife we are medically trained to monitor a normal, so called ‘low risk’, pregnancy.

  •  we track the changes in your body
  • we assess the growth and well-being of your baby
  •  we can detect any abnormalities or complications early on and will then refer you to a gynaecologist if needed
  • we support you through the emotional changes you will experience and prepare you for giving birth and for parenthood
  • you will have all the time you need to ask any questions you may have

At the first consultation we prepare a pregnancy file. A special booklet, “moederboekje”, will be filled out and you need to bring this at every appointment.  This way all health care workers will be informed about the evolution of you and your baby.

Please be on time for the consultation. This way you make sure that others do not have to wait unnecessarily. If you are unable to attend, please contact us as soon as possible.
